Rainbow Spirituality

Early on, there were times I wasn’t sure being gay was compatible with having a life worth living.

But even during those dark times, if someone had offered me a pill to make me straight I would’ve declined it.

I clung onto a belief, instilled in grade school at St Mary’s in Balboa, Panamá, that I was a child of God.

And the Creator, although mysterious and beyond understanding, didn’t make mistakes.

I may have felt betrayed by the Catholic religious tradition into which I was born, but I never felt betrayed by my connection to Source.

This Spiritual awareness simply liberated itself from the confines of any one religion or culture or category of thought.

And that has made all the difference.
